The 2nd Nana Sir Ofori-Atta I National Energy Quiz (NEQ) is an annual competition aimed at educating the youth in both Senior High Schools (SHS) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) on the energy sector. The competition under the auspices of the president of the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, the Okyenhene and Nananom of the Eleven (11) Paramountcy of the Eastern Region is a useful platform where students learn the fundamentals of the energy industry in order to increase their knowledge in the industry.
This helps to, among other things, whip up their enthusiasm to take up careers in the industry by studying energy related courses at the tertiary level as well as be in a better position to demand for transparency and accountability in the industry as they become future energy leaders and pioneers.
I do and shall always emphasise that education should be regarded as one of the foremost duties of the chiefs towards the community; and any chief who fails or neglects his duty can hardly be deemed worthy of his trust.
Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.
